Tribù @ MONACO YACHT SHOW 2019

This year’s Monaco Yacht Show in September sees the world premier of M/Y Dragon, the luxury flagship from Italian firm Columbus Yachts, a Palumbo Superyachts brand. Tribù was selected exclusively to provide the free-standing deck furniture. The collaboration brings together fine design, craftsmanship and timeless elegance.

The 80-metre long yacht was designed by Hydro Tec, giving her sleek, elegant lines and classic proportions over six decks. Dragon can accommodate 12 guests and 19 crew with space for two tenders, three jet skis and a helicopter landing platform. For added glamour, there is also a turquoise-tiled pool with blade waterfall, offering breathtaking views from 12 metres above sea level.

The interiors are the creation of Francesco Guida, a renowned designer for more than 30 years who is known for pioneering green, energy efficient yacht design. His interiors for the light-filled, spacious Dragon are based around a subtle palette of light wood and cream with bronze and brushed gold accents. Panels of highly polished chrome and mirror glass reflect the ocean and sky.

For the open decks, Guida chose key pieces from three sun-and-spray proof Tribù collections, which he repeated in different combinations for lounging, sunbathing and dining. He chose Tribù for the outdoor areas because the design of the selected collections fits perfectly with the Dragon interiors. “The interior is inspired by the Provençal style, reinterpreted in a modern way that simplifies everything, while still using classic details. For instance, the handwoven tricord of the back of the Mood armchairs, daybeds and club chairs is in complete harmony with the natural atmosphere I had in mind. Ultimately, the classic modernity of the interiors find perfect continuity with the exterior areas, creating the ‘timeless relaxing atmosphere’ the owner requested.” – Francesco Guida.

The relaxed central cockpit lounge is open to the sea views and is framed by three Pure sofas and Mood low tables. The 14-seat dining table, perfect for informal meals, is set with Mood armchairs with stone grey woven seat backs.
When anchored, outdoor rooms open out on the bow furnished with Mood daybeds and Vis à Vis loungers, poufs and Ile side tables, with additional Vis à Vis loungers lining the spectacular sun deck.

The 200 square metre ‘beach club’ on the teak bridge mixes cocktail-bar elegance – Tribù’s Mood bar chairs and Guida’s stunning blue agate panel – with contemporary comfort – Pure sofas, Mood low tables and poufs.
Dragon’s Italian styling finds the perfect balance in Tribù’s beautifully made designs, mixing luxury with the art of leisure.
